Welcome to my personal webpage!
Currently, I am a mathematics professor at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). You can find more about me as a professional on this page.
As a mentor
I have a passion for guiding enthusiastic, motivated, and persistent students who are looking for mathematically-related professional opportunities either in academia or industry.
For instance, in Spring of 2024, I am leading a cohort of FGCU undergraduate students in a semester-long undergraduate research experience using mathematics to address a problem from business, industry, or government. Funding for this project is provided by NSF grant DMS-1722275 through the MAA Preparation for Industrial Careers in Mathematical Sciences Program and the National Security Agency.

In addition, I often guide students in mathematical research. Most of the projects I led resulted in joint work with the students involved; they include:
- Modeling the Spread of West Nile Virus in Southwest Florida in 2022
- Exponentially Isometric Matrices in 2021
- First Kind Volterra Equations in 2020
- Singular Values of the Volterra Operator in 2020
- Saddle Points of Analytic Matrix-Valued Functions in 2020
- Norm Behavior of 3-by-3 Matrices in 2019
- Pseudospectra and Matrix Behavior in 2016
- Analytic Number Theory and Dirichlet series in 2016
- The Hilbert Space of Dirichlet Series H^2 and its Multipliers in 2016
- Optimal Bioeconomics: A Multi-Species Fishery Model in 2015
- A Well-Known Result and its Dependency on the Axiom of Choice in 2014

As an educator
I am a critically reflective educator who emphasizes developing students' critical thinking skills within the context of mathematics while developing an understanding of the role and usage of computers to solve problems. At FGCU, I teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
