"The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics"

Paul R. Halmos (1916-2006)

Industrial Math (MAT 4930)

The main goal of the Industrial Mathematics course MAT 4930 is to mimic an internship in business, industry, and government in the classroom while working on a real-world problem from an industry partner from Southwest Florida. In fact, students document their interaction with a team in a professional setting, manage deadlines, think critically to find solutions to a real-world problem, write technical reports, and make a recommendation to the industry partner by delivering oral presentations. This scholarly activity fosters students' civic engagement and inquiry, intellectual breadth and depth, and development of critical thinking skills. If you did not hear about MAT 4930 before (Spring 2022), please see the FGCU 360 article from 2021 or the LinkedIn posting here.

I will describe some of my research work here.  Stay tuned!
